Warm weather, nature turning green, the return of summer fruits, the transition to meals surrounded by family and friends under the heat of the sun rather than around a kitchen table. Longer days and nights that call for windows open and birds chirping in the morning. The Mediterranean embodies this vivacious and long awaited energy in the best possible way. The excitement in the cities around this time of year often reminds us of the days everyone is bubbling over with the energy that just a little more sunshine can bring.
There is no better time than now to explore and indulge in some of the best wine the Mediterranean has to offer. From bright, floral whites and clean bubbles, to reds with smoke and texture, the many countries lining the coast of the Mediterranean have warm weather drinking down to a precise science. These wines, when paired with the salty-spicy flavors of the respective regions, offer a delicious little escape from the mundane of everyday life.
